Tegence ("Tegence", "we", "us") builds machine-learning products, including Tani, our identity-verification system. This policy explains what personal data we collect through tegence.com and our products, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we collect:
- Contact details you submit through our contact form or interest forms: name, email, company, phone number and the message you send us. This is stored in our CRM (HubSpot) so our team can respond.
- Biometric images you voluntarily submit through a dataset-contribution campaign (such as our training-data survey): selfies or live captures used to train and evaluate Tani's face-verification models. We only collect these when you explicitly opt in to a specific campaign; we do not collect biometric data through general use of this website.
- Usage analytics: page views and basic interaction data via Google Analytics, but only after you accept the cookie-consent banner. If you decline, no analytics script loads and no analytics cookie is set. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking pixels.
How we use it
- To respond to inquiries and manage our relationship with prospects and customers.
- To train and evaluate Tani's identity-verification models, for images submitted to a dataset campaign.
- To understand how visitors use this site, in aggregate, so we can improve it.
Biometric data handling
For images submitted to a dataset-contribution campaign, we commit to:
- Purpose limitation: images are used only to train and evaluate our face-recognition models, not for any other purpose.
- Encryption: images are encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Limited access: only personnel directly involved in model training and evaluation can access the raw images.
- Retention: images are retained only as long as needed for the training campaign they were submitted to, then deleted.
You may withdraw consent and request deletion of images you've submitted at any time by emailing info@tegence.com.
Tani and our enterprise customers
When an organization deploys Tani to verify the identity of its own users or customers, that organization is the data controller for the biometric and document data processed through their deployment, and their own privacy policy governs that use. Tegence processes that data as a service provider, under contract, solely to provide the verification service.
Cookies
We use a single analytics cookie (Google Analytics) to understand aggregate site usage, and only after you accept our cookie banner. IP addresses are anonymized. You can decline at any time from the banner, or by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers who help us operate (our CRM provider and cloud infrastructure provider), under contracts that limit their use of it to providing those services to us.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, request a copy of it, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent for anything you previously opted into. Contact info@tegence.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Changes to this policy
We'll update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes, and post material changes here before they take effect.
